Molecular Diagnostics, Counseling, Care and Research Centre” (MDCRC) is an independent, not-for-profit charitable organization focusing on children who are suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Today, MDCRC in the presence of it's Founder Dr. Lakshmi observed World Duchenne Awareness Day at the Jenney's club, Avinashi Road.
Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman of KG Hospitals was the Chief Guest for the day. Close to 40 children who are victims of DMD took part in the celebrations along with their family members. Cultural events like dances and songs were played for the children which brought priceless smiles in their faces who were gracefully dressed in traditional attire.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam appreciated the selfless service of Dr. Lakshmi to bring a change to the lives of these children who are victims of DMD. He also lauded Dr. Lakshmi for bringing smiles in the faces of these children and their families, which indeed is priceless.
As a concluding note, Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam wished MDCRC to continue it's constructive services to the community and help uplift the lives of DMD patients.
