The organs of a 65-year-old woman helped in saving the lives of four people on Friday.
Two kidneys and a pair of eyes of Chinnathai (65), a resident of Karur district, was retrieved on Friday.
She was admitted to PSG Hospital and was diagnosed with hypertensive bleed in her brain on Thursday.
She was subsequently declared brain-dead.
Her sons, understanding the value of organ donation, came forward to donate her organs.
With the consent of the family, two kidneys were retrieved and sent to KG and KMCH hospitals and a pair of eyes was sent to Aravind Eye Hospitals.
