Three Migrant labourers tortured, sold as bonded labourers to borewell companies.


Three migrant laborers from Chhattisgarh who have been brought to Tamilnadu on promise of jobs by an agent have allegedly been  tortured , ill-treated and sold as bonded laborers to a bore well companies functioning in Erode district. 

Dhaneshwar, Mahendra Gurge and Anathkumar, was lured by an agent of Erode on promise of higher wages and when they reached Erode, they were  subjected to assault and humiliation. Later they were sold to borewell companies in three different places including Erode, Athur, and Ulundurpet for a amount of Rs.8000 each.

“The threesome have managed to escape and when they went to register a complaint with Kattur police station., the policemen have turned them out, saying it is not their police limits. The dubious agents should be arrested and brought to book” demanded Krishnamurthy of Migrant laborers association.
