Harminder Singh, the Monitoring Officer, and Principal Secretary, Department of Municipal Administration conducted a review and inspection meeting at the collectorate with District officials to check the outbreak of seasonal dengue and other water borne diseases.

The Senior IAS official instructed the officials to launch measures to check disease outbreak and said it is imperative to contain the breeding of mosquitoes (aedes aegypti or tiger mosquitoes) to prevent spread of seasonal dengue in both the rural and urban areas of the district.

The rural development, panchayat officials should coordinate and implement measures to prevent rain water logging water gathering in containers, tires, coconut shell, paper cups, by regular checking of breeding sites by engaging domestic breeding checkers.
The DBC workers in rural areas should ensure that mosquito breeding is prevented at any cost by door to door sanitizing and fogging measures.
"Apart from that the school children should be engaged to create awareness about dengue and seasonal fevers and monsoon related illnesses among the common man in the rural areas and pockets of the district", Harminder Singh said.
District Collector T.N.Hariharan, CCMC Commissioner Dr.K.Vijayakarthikeyan, DRO Durai Ravichandran, Gayathri Krishnan, Sub Collector (Pollachi) and other official attended the meeting.
