Rain-battered flex banner poses danger to road users in Avarampalayam

A battered flex banner put up by a political party is precariously hanging and posing danger to the road users and motorists alike in Avarampalayam near Ganapathi in the city.

The indiscriminate erection of banners through out the city has become a menace in recent years, and adding woe to the problem is not dismantling it after the stipulated period given by the City Corporation and Police.

The political parties and event organizer throw norms to the winds, and concentrate on humoring their leaders in their own sycophantic ways.

One such banner in Avarampalayam battered by the rains and winds might collapse at any time, injuring the pedestrians and those waiting for bus under it. In this case DMDK has erected it and not dismantled it after the stipulated period of the event.

“The City Corporation should conduct a drive to pull down such unauthorized banners dotting the city roads, for the benefit and safety of the road users” says the city denizens.

“Recently the roof of bus stand collapsed claiming five lives, if the banners are allowed to crop up like this all over the city, they too might pose danger to the lives of the city denizens.
