The disqualification of 18 MLAs unfortunate but the MLA failed to heed the warnings - Kanakaraj, Sulur legislator.

The dismissal and disqualification of 18 rebel MLAs by the TN assembly Speaker Dhanapal is unfortunate and the AIADMK would not be in a position to win all these constituencies if reelection is held said Kanagaraj Sulur legislator.

Kanagaraj, who briefed the media however said and clarified that the disqualification of dissenting MLAs should be seen as a punishment meted out to the 18 rebel MLAs, who chose to listen to the repeated warnings of Speaker P.Dhanapal, who finally delivered the master stroke using Tamilnadu Assembly Antidefection and Disqualification rule 1986.

The opposition parties have rallied in one camp under DMK and to counter this, the AIADMK should strike out a strong alliance too. "There is nothing wrong if AIADMK joins hands with BJP in the local body’s poll", Kanakaraj said.

Kanakaraj, who has deserted the TTV Dinakaran camp said that the latter has joined hands with the DMK to topple the government.“I was lured with ministerial berths in future but I chose not to go with Dinakaran camp” the Sulur legislator said.

In a recent development, Tamilnadu Government has published the disqualification of 19 rebel MLAs in Tamilnadu Gazette and made it official.
