Karnataka Govt. to perpetuate the memory of Thanthai Periyar by naming city bus terminus after him.

When the country is celebrating the 139th birth anniversary of Thanthai Periyar, the rationalist leader whose rationalistic thought and ideas brought about a Dravidian renaissance in Tamilnadu, the Karnataka Government has stepped up its measures to honor and perpetuate the memory of the great leader by naming a bus terminus in the city of Bangalore after the great Dravidian leader.

Ramalinga Reddy, Home Minister of Karnataka while paying tributes to Periyar said that his progressive and rationalistic ideas against superstition and caste oppression has brought about a great renaissance in Tamilnadu and it had its effects in all the Dravidian heartland including Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.

A bill will be passed in the Karnataka assembly to this effect and a bus terminus will be named after the towering Dravidian leader, who started a social revolution in Tamilnadu.
