The district administration has issued to flood alert to those living on the banks of river Bhavani thanks to incessant rains in its catchment areas.
Thanks to incessant rains lashing Nilgiris and Coimbatore, Bhavani River is in spate and the Pillur dam has touched 98 feet storage and its flood gates are opened.
Those living near the banks have been asked to evacuate to safer areas to avoid flooding.
Due to heavy rains, the Noyyal River is also in spate and the waters have been channeled into to Ukkadam big tank and Kurichi kulam, which is cause for cheer for farmers and city denizens.
