Tamilnadu government not cooperating with Centre over projects, says Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan

Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan alleged that the state government was not cooperating with the Centre to implement welfare projects in Tamil Nadu.

Campaigning for BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan in Coimbatore on Thursday, Radhakrishnan said that the Centre was ready to implement projects worth 1lakh crore in TN, including a ring road for Coimbatore and a coastal road project for Chennai. "State government is not cooperating to go forward with the projects," he alleged.

Terming Coimbatore as the commercial capital of the state, Radhakrishnan said that the city was reeling under a host of problems like drinking water shortage, traffic congestion and poor sewage disposal. "While homes suffer due to the drinking water shortage, men in the state are drowned in alcohol because of the wrong liquor policy of the ruling government," he said.
