Following public ire and wide spread condemnation of Somanur bus stand roof collapse, which claimed five lives, the Tamilnadu Government has reacted and placed under suspension an Assistant Engineer who was supervising the construction of the bus stand when the project was implemented about 20 years ago.
Paramasivam, the said Asst. Engineer is currently serving in Virudhunagar Municipality and he has been placed under suspension for failing to adhere to bench quality standards, during the implementation of the suburban bus stand project.
