BJP candidate promises to ease traffic congestion

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for the Kavundampalayam Assembly constituency R. Nandakumar said here on Sunday that he would strive to ease traffic congestion on Mettupalayam Road.

Addressing reporters, he said that, if elected, he would work to provide flyovers in Kavundampalayam, GN Mills ond Thudiyalur.

As part of the traffic improvement measures between Coimbatore and Mettupalayam, Mr. Nandakumar said that he was also promising more stoppages for the train connecting the two places.

Though he was contesting the Assembly election and railways was a Central Government subject, he could still work it out because it was a BJP government at the Centre.

He also promised alternative housing for people living by encroaching canals. Once they were shifted out, he would work to have the canals cleaned.
