Display of building materials begins in Coimbatore

As the construction industry shows signs of revival and customers are investing in properties, there is an exhibition in the city to showcase building materials, décor items, and construction equipment.

Coimbatore Civil Engineers Association has organised Confair 2016, an international fair of construction industry, at Codissia Trade Fair Centre. The event has 277 stalls and it brings together buyers and sellers from the construction industry. The exhibition also has some international participants and the products exhibited encompass the design and construction segments.

From mini excavators and water treatment systems to tiles, paints and water heaters, the exhibition has a wide range of products.

Covering a display area of 75,000 sq.ft, the exhibits include new technologies to ethnic products.

Coimbatore-based Karsan Technologies has introduced Smitch, which enables users to control electronic devices at home using a mobile application.

“It is new and convenient because it is an automation system that can be installed in the existing set up of the house” said its founder, H.R. Sananth Kumar.

Xylo paints has surface coatings and putty for crack free walls. Corrugated UV polycarbonate sheets from Tuflite Polymers have been engineered to suit industrial roofing. There are also stone sculptures, murals and handicrafts.

The three-day expo, which was inaugurated on Friday, is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the entry fee is Rs. 50 per person. The Hindu Property Plus is the media partner for the exhibition.
