Police arrested Latha (63) a quack near Gomangalam pudur on charges of practicing allopathy medicine and treating patients without any mandatory medical qualification.
Latha was running “Sree Murugan Hosptial" at Gomangalam pudur and practiced allopathy medicine even though she had only a certificate qualification in Siddha medicine.
On receiving complaints Public Health officials led by Medical Superintendent of Pollachi medical college conducted raid in her clinic in which allopathy medicines were seized from her clinic.
The arrested woman was produced in court and remanded in custody.
