Saddam Hussain, the prime suspect in the sensational Sasikumar murder case, who was arrested by the police on August 2 would be taken into police custody for interrogation for five days, the Judicial Court ordered today.
The Judicial Court where the trial of the murder case is ongoing has agreed to the request of the CB-CID Police to take the suspect under police custody for interrogation. The CB-CID police have earlier sought the police custody of Saddam for 10 days, but however the Court has permitted only five days of police custody.
The court has also extended permission to the counsel of Saddam to meet him for two days during his five days custody. Taking the prime suspect in custody would help solve the missing links in the sensational murder case.
The case was transferred to CB CID in March 2017 and the police have named Saddam, and Mubarak as the prime accused in the case and announced.
Police are on the lookout for another accused Mubarak in the case for which a reward of Rs.2 lakh has been announced for providing any vital information regarding his whereabouts.
