Forest Department personnel of the Karamadai Range of the Coimbatore Forest Division on Thursday arrested four men for possessing poached meat of spotted deer here.

According to District Forest Officer N. Satheesh, the department staff had checked Irularpathi based on a tip off that deer meat had been stored in the hamlet.
During inspection, they had found out that four men had possession of deer meet and arrested them. The accused were identified as R. Kumar (41), K. Karthick (24), K. Chandiran (28) and I. Lindane (23) all from the Irularpathi hamlet.
According to sources, these men had been selling deer meat for upto Rs. 1000 per kilo.
