The date for obtaining license for setting of cracker shops in the city in view of the forthcoming Diwali celebrations has been extended to August 11 and the applicants could apply for the same in the prescribed format said City Police Commissioner A.Amalraj.
In a press release issued here the Police Commissioner has said that the city police would scrutinize the application thoroughly and grant permission accordingly. No cracker shops would be allowed to function on road sides the commissioner has stated.
