Tamilnadu Assembly Committee on Public Undertakings headed by S.Muthiah visited the city and conducted inspection in TNSTC depot and Aavin dairy unit and the committee members later took part in the meeting with various department officials.
Briefing the media after the inspection, S.Muthiah Chairman of the committee said that the committee members inspected the quality of food in the TNSTC depot canteen in Sungam and advised the crew to ply the fleet of vehicles without any accidents.

The drivers who drive TNSTC buses have been given awards, he said and added that in-service orientation progrmmes are being organized for the TNSTC drivers and conductors and eye camps organized for their benefit.
“The Aavin dairy unit in Pachampalayam is procuring 2.60 lakh liters per day out of which 1.52 lakh liters are sold locally and 30,000 liters sent to Kerala. Value added milk products such as milk powder, butter, ghee are produced using 1 lakh liters of procured milk”, S.Muthiah said.
