School students Kaviarasu and Illaikia of Devala near Gudalur in petitioned Nilgiris district collector Innocent Divya praying her to extend power connection to their hutments.
The students who came to the collectorate on grievances day said that even though they have been petitioning the district collector for the past 7 years and an inspection of VAO has been carried out no progress was made in giving their houses power supply under “one hut one light” scheme.
"Due to lack of power we could not study properly and forced to study under kerosene lamp" the students said.
