All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) have started losing people’s support as they don’t walk the talk, said Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi leader E.R. Eswaran.
Addressing party workers and reporters at meetings organised to introduce nominees in four Assembly constituencies in and around the city on Tuesday, he said that both the parties talked of prohibition even as their leaders were engaged in supplying liquor to TASMAC.
Corruption
Speaking with the two parties, Mr. Eswaran also said that they talked about providing corruption-free governance but had fielded who had been accused of corruption.
The DMK, in particular, had fielded candidates who faced corruption charges but talked about setting up Lok Ayukta.
This clearly showed that the two parties would not match their actions with words.
Both the AIADMK and DMK had failed the Kongu region.
While in power, the parties collected Rs. 50,000 crore a year in taxes but spent only a fraction of it for the region. The only way the Kongu region would develop was if it was carved out of Tamil Nadu as a separate state. The KMDK would work towards this objective, he added.
