Police rescued Nithin Sharma, an engineering college student who has been allegedly abducted for ransom by unidentified persons.
It is said Nithin Sharma, pursuing mechanical engineering in a private college in Ketti in Nilgiris district was abducted from the college premises to Chennai and the abductors who contacted the Rajibir Sharma, Nithin’s father had demanded a ransom of Rs.10 lakhs to release him.
Nithin's father deposited Rs.40,000, as first instalment in a given bank account, which was immediately with drawn from the ATM of the account.
In the meanwhile Rajbir sharma preferred a complaint to Coonoor police station, who formed a special police team to nab the abductors.
As a twist in the tale, Nithin Sharma, who was found lounging in Erode Railway station was rescued by the police and brought back to Coonoor.
Police are investigating the case from all angles, and they are also looking into whether Nitin Sharma has staged an abduction drama to squeeze money from his father.
