State Health Minister Vijayabhaskar convenes review meeting at the Collectorate


The chlorine level in the drinking water should be maintained at 0.02 ppm limit and the over tanks should be maintained clean to prevent any outbreak of water borne diseases said SP Velumani, Minister for Rural Development and Local administration.

Presiding over a review meeting held at the collector to review preparedness of health department and other departments the Minister said keeping the environment clean by destroying and sanitizing breeding sites would help check the breeding of mosquitoes. Emptying of tires, and sanitizing the containers with bleaching powders and closing water containers would help check mosquito breeding he said.



Health Minister C.vijayabhaskar said that the district collectors have been instructed to conduct mass clean up campaigns in the district, to prevent garbage pile up and mosquito breeding. Warning that visiting quacks for treatment of fever could worsen the situation he said a uniform treatment protocol is being followed in HCs and Government hospitals for dengue and people should follow that.

“The officialdom in the state should ensure that there are no fever related deaths in the state by working round the clock to eradicate risk factors “C.vijayabhaskar added.
