CII opens its New District office at Tiruppur

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) opened its new district office here at Tiruppur today. CII Tiruppur office is the 8th office of CII in Tamil Nadu and 18th office in the Southern Region.



The office was formally inaugurated by Mr Vikram Kirloskar, Chairman, CII Southern Region the presence of CII office bearers including Mr.K.Kandasamy, Chairman, CII Tiruppur District, Mr.D.Venkatesh, Vice Chairman, CII Tiruppur District, Mr.Raja M.Shanmugham, Founder Chairman, CII Tiruppur District & President, Tirupur Exporters Association, Past Chairmen, Leadership of Young Indians (Yi) Tirupur Chapter and members of CII and Yi.



Speaking at the Inaugural Function, Mr.Vikram Kirloskar commended the industry members from the Knitwear Capital of India - Tiruppur for their continued efforts and their contribution towards opening up a new CII office in the city. He added that Member’s trust is like a pillar of support for CII and expressed that the inauguration of this office will certainly help in extending CII’s reach in the city and also will help in extending better services to the industry members. He also exclaimed that the office exemplifies CII’s commitment to the Sustainable development of Industry in this region.



Mr.Vikram Kirloskar also mentioned that CII provides a great business networking platform for its members with the national and international business community and requested members from Tiruppur to learn from this engagement platform. He also highlighted about the services extended by the CII’s Centres of Excellence, CII International Division, Business Mentoring Services and also the developmental initiatives of CII CSR and CII Foundation undertaken for the betterment of larger stakeholder community.

Mr.M.Ponnuswami, Vice Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu in his address thanked Mr.Raja M.Shanmugam, Mr.T.R.Ramanathan and Mr.Vijaya Kumar - key industry members from the city and key officials of the Sripuram trust, for their role and support in establishing the CII Tiruppur chapter and the new office. He urged industry members from the city to judiciously utilize CII’s gamut of services and also urged them to actively take part in government engagement initiatives of CII.

Industry members of CII Tiruppur have been very active in several CII cluster initiatives implemented across the region and have reaped benefits both in terms of cost reduction and in terms of efficiency in their operations. The district presently has about 110 organisations as CII members and about 82 individuals as Yi Members.
