CCMC Commissioner K.Vijayakarthikeyan inaugurated a tree planting campaign at the Corporation Park at Kasturi nagar, which has been laid in a reserve site, after eviction of encroachments by the civic body. NGOs and SBOA school students joined in the campaign.
Osai, the green NGO, Food bank of Coimbatore, Kovai roots, and Kasturi nagar Resident welfare association members, who will undertake the maintenance of the park took part in the tree planting campaign. Syed from Osai Trust shared that “About 21 trees which faced the threat of axe have been saved and were replanted in Corporation parks all over the city and people should realize the importance of green cover and trees and help save trees which are being felled".
