Close to thirty plus retired staff of various government departments who are also members of the pensioners association staged an unprecedented protest in front of the South Taluk Office demanding timely disbursement of retirement benefits among other demands.
Urging both the Central and State governments to pay more attention on the timely settlement of retirement benefits and focusing on filling the hundreds of vacant positions in various government departments, the staff raised slogans and condemned the government's lethargic attitude towards the same.
