Man injured during robbery near Royal Theatre

An unidentified man aged about 35-years-old met with an accident near Royal Theatre on the Big Bazaar Road early on Tuesday while fleeing after robbing three persons.

He stole the bike of A. Zaheer Hussain (31), a fish trader residing on the Housing Unit on the Vincent Road at Kottaimedu around 3.30 a.m.

Later, he came to Lanka Corner, and the CMCH from where he stole mobile phones of P. Maleswaran (24) of Kanniwadi in Dindigul, and T. Gokulnath (23) of Selvi Nagar in Tiruvarur who were sleeping on the foot path.

Some others sleeping along the roadside raised an alarm and people started chasing him.

He rammed his motor bike against an electric post while fleeing.

He has been admitted to the CMCH.
