Coimbatore City Police have seized two motorcycles and questioning two youths after a video showing their bikes displaying the same registration number, TN 21 C 2697, went viral on social media. The Police and the RTO (North) are conducting an investigation into the matter.

The video was recorded by a person who noticed two motorcycles bearing the same registration number, TN 21 C 2697, in the Kavundampalayam area of Coimbatore. The video was widely circulated with the caption “Two Bikes… Same Number!”, raising questions over the possible use of fake number plates, including whether they could be linked to stolen vehicles or criminal activities.

Responding to the incident, the Coimbatore City Police said an Inspector from the Traffic Police Division initiated an investigation after the video surfaced on social media.
The two youths allegedly using motorcycles with the same registration number have been traced. Both motorcycles have been seized, and the two youths are being questioned, police said.
Also, the Coimbatore North Regional Transport Office (RTO) is also conducting an investigation into the matter. Police said that, based on the findings of the inquiry, a case will be registered under the appropriate legal provisions and further action will be taken.
