Coimbatore Corporation Organizes Special Bank Loan Camp for Street Vendors

Coimbatore Corporation is conducting a special camp from August 24 to 29 at its head office and five zonal offices to provide Rs.15,000 bank loans to street vendors. Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja urged vendors to bring Aadhaar card and bank passbook to avail the facility.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja announced that a special camp will be organized on August 24, 25, 27, 28, and 29 to provide bank loans to street vendors operating within the Corporation limits. The camp will be held at the Corporation head office and five zonal offices.

The special camp has been arranged to enable street vendors within the Corporation area to obtain loans of Rs.15,000 through banks. The camp will be conducted on Monday, August 24, Tuesday, August 25, Thursday, August 27, Friday, August 28, and Saturday, August 29, from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Street vendors interested in availing bank loans must participate in this camp. The Commissioner stated that vendors must bring essential documents including their Aadhaar card and bank passbook.

This scheme is expected to enhance the livelihood of street vendors. Since the camp will be held at the Corporation head office and five zonal offices, vendors can visit the most convenient location to benefit from this facility.

The initiative aims to provide financial assistance to small-scale street vendors, enabling them to expand their businesses and improve their economic conditions. This is part of the Corporation's efforts to support the informal sector and strengthen the livelihood opportunities for street vendors in the city.
