Divine Marriage Ceremony at Sri Lalithambigai Temple in Periya Thadagam Draws Devotees

The divine marriage ceremony of Sri Lalithambigai and Sri Kameswararar was celebrated at Periya Thadagam Sri Lalithambigai Temple under the leadership of Jagadatmananda Saraswati Swamigal. Large numbers of devotees from surrounding areas participated and received blessings. Special prayers were conducted for removal of marriage obstacles.


Coimbatore: The divine marriage ceremony of Sri Lalithambigai and Sri Kameswararar was celebrated with grandeur at the renowned Sri Lalithambigai Temple located at the foothill of Anuvaavi Subramaniyar Temple in Periya Thadagam, Coimbatore. The festival was conducted under the leadership of Sri Jagadatmananda Saraswati Swamigal, the temple trust administrator.

The ceremony was performed with traditional rituals involving more than 50 different ceremonial items including coconuts, fruits, silk sarees, betel leaves, flowers, turmeric, kumkum, bangles, sweets, and savories. Yagnas were conducted with these offerings arranged in trays. Following the exchange of garlands and special Mangalya puja, the divine marriage was solemnized according to Agama traditions with Vedic chants by temple priests.



Devotees from various areas including Periya Thadagam, Chinna Thadagam, Thudiyalur, Somayampalayam, TVS Nagar, and Anaikatti participated in large numbers to witness the divine marriage ceremony conducted with Vedic mantras and received blessings from the deity.

Special prayers were offered during the event for world peace, family harmony, good health, prosperity, and spiritual advancement. The temple administration distributed turmeric threads, turmeric, and sweets to all participants. This was followed by a traditional feast in the afternoon featuring vadai and payasam.

Sri Jagadatmananda Saraswati Swamigal, temple trust administrator, in his blessing, stated, "By participating in this divine marriage ceremony, obstacles to marriage will be removed and marriage prospects will materialize. Unity, peace, and prosperity will flourish in families. Health, wealth, happiness, and prosperity will be attained. There will be growth in progeny and auspicious life for generations to come. Spiritual progress and divine grace will increase."

The arrangements for the festival were efficiently managed by the trustees, officers, and staff of the Lalithambigai Trust.
