Madukkarai Woman Murder Case Cracked in 11 Days; Coimbatore SP Appreciates Investigating Officers

Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Pavan Kumar has commended the special investigation team for solving the Madukkarai woman murder case within 11 days through scientific investigation, technical analysis and coordinated police work, leading to the arrest of the victim's husband.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Pavan Kumar has appreciated the special investigation team that successfully solved the murder of a young woman whose decomposed body was found near Manjapallam under the Madukkarai Police Station limits within 11 days.

The victim's body was discovered in bushes near Manjapallam in Kovai Pudur on June 24. Following the recovery of the body, a special investigation team was constituted under the supervision of Perur Deputy Superintendent of Police Suresh. The team, led by Madukkarai Inspector Rajendira Prasad and Sub-Inspector Pandiyaraj, launched an intensive investigation into the case.

As part of the probe, the investigators analysed more than 5,000 call detail records (CDRs), examined over 200 CCTV camera footages and scrutinised mobile tower data from the crime scene. A crucial breakthrough came after the team noticed the name "Jagan" tattooed on the victim's hand. Combining this clue with scientific evidence, cyber analysis and technical inputs, the police identified the deceased as Parsha (21), a native of Odisha, and traced the accused to her husband, Jagan Pradhan (23).

According to the police investigation, the couple had become acquainted through Instagram, got married and later moved to Tamil Nadu for construction work. Frequent marital disputes allegedly culminated in the accused murdering his wife near Manjapallam.

The accused was subsequently arrested, produced before the jurisdictional court and remanded to judicial custody. He is currently lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison.

Appreciating the swift detection of the case, Superintendent of Police Pavan Kumar commended Perur Deputy Superintendent of Police Suresh, Inspector Rajendira Prasad, Sub-Inspector Pandiyaraj and all police personnel associated with the investigation for their professionalism, coordinated efforts and dedication in cracking the murder case within 11 days.
