Coimbatore Perur DSP Conducts On-Foot Patrol, Interacts With Public

Perur DSP conducted a foot patrol in Thondamuthur police limits, interacted with students and residents, reviewed public safety measures, and inspected identity documents of migrant workers as part of community policing efforts.

Coimbatore:

As part of efforts to strengthen community policing and directly address public grievances, Perur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) conducted an intensive foot patrol in areas under the Thondamuthur Police Station limits in Coimbatore.

Following instructions from the Coimbatore District Police administration, police personnel have been directed to carry out regular foot patrols during morning and evening hours within their respective jurisdictions to improve public interaction and enhance safety measures.

In line with this initiative, the Perur DSP undertook a foot patrol from Kulathupalayam to Kuberapuri on Monday evening, interacting with residents and monitoring law and order conditions in the area.

During the patrol, the officer interacted with school students waiting along the roadside after classes and provided them with safety awareness and precautionary guidance.

The DSP also visited the Sandhaipettai bus stop area and reviewed security arrangements for passengers waiting for buses. Discussions were held with police personnel regarding public safety, and a field inspection was conducted to assess the feasibility of installing additional CCTV cameras in the locality.

Later, the officer visited residential areas housing migrant workers from northern states in Kuberapuri. During the inspection, details regarding their accommodation, employers, identity documents, and legal stay records were verified.

The foot patrol initiative by the police has received a positive response from local residents, who welcomed the effort to improve accessibility between the police and the public.
