Southern Railway announces temporary regulation of Alappuzha–Dhanbad and Ernakulam–Tatanagar Express trains on June 3 and 6, 2026, due to sleeper renewal works on the Erode–Salem section, affecting passenger schedules.


Salem: Southern Railway has announced the temporary regulation of two express trains due to essential sleeper renewal works being undertaken between Magudanchavadi and Virapandy Road railway stations in the Erode–Salem section.

According to an official statement issued by the Salem Division, Train No. 18190 Ernakulam–Tatanagar Express scheduled to run on June 3 and June 6, 2026, will be regulated for 50 minutes at a convenient location en route. Similarly, Train No. 13352 Alappuzha–Dhanbad Express operating on the same dates will be regulated for 20 minutes at a convenient location along its route.

The railway administration stated that the regulation has been necessitated to facilitate essential track maintenance works and ensure the safe and smooth operation of train services in the section. The sleeper renewal works are part of routine maintenance activities aimed at enhancing rail safety and infrastructure quality.

Passengers travelling on these trains have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly, allowing for additional travel time. The railway authorities have requested passengers to check the latest train running status through official channels before departure to avoid inconvenience.
