TNFA Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Radhakrishnan and Coimbatore Forest Range Officer V. Thirumurugan sustained injuries after a forest department vehicle toppled near Kallakurichi while they were travelling to Chennai for an official programme.
Coimbatore: Two forest department personnel — Tamil Nadu Forest Academy (TNFA) Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Radhakrishnan and Coimbatore Forest Range Officer V. Thirumurugan — sustained severe injuries after a forest department vehicle met with an accident near Kallakurichi early Tuesday morning around 4 am.
Radhakrishnan, who had recently undergone heart surgery, is reportedly in critical condition and undergoing treatment at Royal Care Hospital. Meanwhile, Thirumurugan is being treated at Ganga Hospital, in Coimbatore where doctors are performing surgery for a fractured shoulder.
The officials were travelling from Coimbatore to Chennai to attend a forest department programme along with TNFA Ranger Dileepan and driver John. While Dileepan and John escaped with minor injuries, the vehicle reportedly toppled near Kallakurichi during the journey.
