Coimbatore: A heinous crime has shocked Coimbatore district as a 10-year-old girl from the Sulur, Pallapalayam, and Bharathipuram area was abducted, sexually assaulted, murdered, and her body dumped in bushes. The incident occurred on the evening of May 21, 2026, when anti-social elements kidnapped the child on a two-wheeler, leaving the community in deep shock and anguish.
Thondamuthur MLA SP Velumani expressed grave concern over the incident and demanded immediate action from the state government. In a strongly worded statement, he highlighted that such crimes had increased significantly during the previous DMK administration, leading to widespread public outrage.
