Avinashi MLA Kamali Sworn In As Minister In TVK Cabinet Expansion

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam MLA Kamali from Avinashi reserved constituency in Tiruppur district took oath as minister today in the second phase of cabinet expansion under the TVK government in Tamil Nadu.

Coimbatore: Kamali, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam MLA representing the reserved Avinashi Assembly constituency in Tiruppur district, was sworn in as a minister today as part of the TVK government's second cabinet expansion.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan, where Kamali joined several other newly appointed ministers in the expanded council. The induction marks the completion of the TVK administration's full cabinet formation since assuming power.

Kamali, a first-time legislator, won the Avinashi reserved constituency in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, defeating her DMK alliance opponent by a substantial margin. Her victory was among the significant wins for TVK in the Kongu region of western Tamil Nadu.

Following the announcement, TVK party workers and supporters across Avinashi and Tiruppur district celebrated the ministerial appointment. Local party functionaries organized celebrations in multiple locations within the constituency to mark the occasion.

Political observers view Kamali's cabinet berth as TVK's strategic move to ensure representation from western districts and reserved constituencies. Her elevation as a first-time MLA to ministerial rank has been widely welcomed by party cadres.

The Chief Minister's office is expected to announce portfolio allocations for all newly inducted ministers shortly. Party sources indicated that the ministers will assume charge of their respective departments within the next few days.

With this expansion, the TVK government has reportedly finalized its complete council of ministers, including representatives from various regions across Tamil Nadu.
