A school van driver named Ganesan was arrested in Coimbatore for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl over multiple occasions. A complaint was filed at Puliyakulam Women’s Police Station and a case registered under the POCSO Act.

Coimbatore: A woman working in Bengaluru had left her 6-year-old daughter in the care of her parents in Coimbatore, where the child was attending school.

During the summer holidays, when the mother brought her daughter to Bengaluru, the child complained of pain while urinating. On questioning, the girl revealed that school van driver Ganesan had been sexually assaulting her after school hours.

The accused had reportedly threatened the child not to tell anyone and used chocolates to manipulate her into silence.

Shocked by the revelation, the mother took the child for a medical examination in Bengaluru.

On the advice of doctors, she filed a complaint at the Puliyakulam Women’s Police Station in Coimbatore.

Acting on the complaint, police arrested van driver Ganesan and registered a case under the POCSO Act. Investigations are currently underway.
