Coimbatore: Three-tier security has been deployed at the vote counting center in Coimbatore following the completion of assembly election polling across Tamil Nadu. The district recorded a voter turnout of 84.67 percent in a peaceful and orderly manner.

The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been brought to the Government College of Technology campus on Thadagam Road and stored under strict security protocols. EVMs from all 10 assembly constituencies in the district have been placed in separate rooms and sealed properly.

District Collector and Election Officer Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar inspected the storage facility and addressed media personnel. He stated that this election witnessed a higher voter turnout, with approximately 85 percent of registered voters casting their ballots.

The EVMs from all 10 assembly constituencies in Coimbatore have been transported to the Government College of Technology and sealed in the presence of general observers and polling agents. The District Collector emphasized that there were no law and order issues at any polling station, and no circumstances arose that required re-polling.

The vote counting center has been equipped with three-tier security arrangements and 300 CCTV cameras have been installed to ensure complete surveillance. Special viewing facilities have been arranged for political party agents to monitor the counting process.

The sealed EVMs will remain under 24-hour security surveillance until the counting day. All security measures have been implemented as per Election Commission guidelines to ensure the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
