TCE Hosts AI Software Development Workshop Led by New Zealand-Based Alumnus

Tamilnadu College of Engineering conducted a one-day workshop on Mastering AI in Software Development on April 8, 2026. The session was delivered by Mr V E Saravanakumar, Senior Consultant from Auckland, providing students with practical knowledge of AI applications in modern software development.


Coimbatore: Tamilnadu College of Engineering successfully organized a comprehensive one-day workshop on "Mastering AI in Software Development" on April 8, 2026, bringing together students eager to explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in modern software development.

The workshop was jointly organized by the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) and the Departments of Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science at TCE, reflecting the institution's commitment to bridging academic learning with industry-relevant skills.



The session was delivered by Mr V E Saravanakumar, Senior Consultant (Dynamics 365 CE) based in Auckland, New Zealand, and a proud alumnus of TCE. His expertise and real-world experience provided students with invaluable insights into the practical applications of AI in software development.

The workshop focused on equipping participants with hands-on skills and theoretical understanding of AI technologies. Students gained fundamental knowledge of AI and its diverse applications in software development, learned prompt engineering techniques to effectively leverage AI tools, and developed practical experience in building AI-based applications. The training also emphasized improving coding, debugging, and documentation skills using industry-standard tools like Visual Studio Code.



Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anusha Ravi, CEO, Park Institutions, highlighted the significance of alumni engagement in shaping future-ready professionals. "Our alumnus's presence today is a testament to the power of alumni networks. Having honed their skills at TCE, they now return to empower our community with practical insights, hands-on tools, and strategies to thrive in the AI-driven future," she said.

Dr Anusha Ravi further emphasized the workshop's broader vision, stating, "This workshop isn't just about algorithms or coding; it's about igniting curiosity, fostering innovation, and preparing our students to lead India's digital revolution."

The initiative underscores TCE's proactive approach in preparing students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape, ensuring they are equipped with cutting-edge skills to excel in the global AI-driven economy.
