Power Outage Scheduled for Papanaickenpalayam and Somayampalayam Sub-stations in Coimbatore

Electricity Board announces power cuts in various areas of Coimbatore on October 18 from 9 AM to 4 PM due to monthly maintenance work at Papanaickenpalayam and Somayampalayam sub-stations.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has announced power outages in several areas of Coimbatore on Wednesday, October 18, from 9 AM to 4 PM. The scheduled power cuts are necessitated by monthly maintenance work at the Papanaickenpalayam and Somayampalayam sub-stations.

Areas affected under the Papanaickenpalayam sub-station include Purani Colony, Avarampalayam, Ganesh Nagar, Kamadhenu Nagar, Nava India Road, Ganapathy Bus Stop, Sithapudur, Palayur, Papanaickenpalayam, Kuppusamy Naidu Memorial Hospital area, Alamu Nagar, Balaji Nagar, Ramakrishna Hospital area, Papanaickenpalayam electric crematorium, Puthiyavar Nagar surrounding areas, and a part of Gandhima Nagar.

The power outage in the Somayampalayam sub-station will affect Yamuna Nagar, Kalappanaickenpalayam, GCT Nagar, Luna Nagar, Kanuvai, Thudiyalur Road, Somayampalayam, Agarwal School Road, Cheran Industrial Area, KNG Pudur, Vidya Colony, Saaj Garden, Teachers Colony, VMT Nagar, Namitha Garden, Abdul Kalam Colony, and Megalamani Road.

Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to plan accordingly for the temporary disruption in power supply. The TNEB has stated that the maintenance work is essential to ensure the continued efficiency and reliability of the power distribution network in Coimbatore.
