Coimbatore police arrested four individuals on Puttu Vikki Road for possession of 250 grams of ganja and 1 gram of drugs. A car, bike, scooter, and mobile phones were seized during the operation.
Coimbatore: Four individuals were arrested on Puttu Vikki Road in Coimbatore for possession of cannabis and other drugs. The arrests were made during a routine patrol by Inspector Thangam of the Karumbukkadai Police Station on Monday (Oct. 14) evening.
Inspector Thangam noticed a suspicious group on Puttu Vikki Road during his patrol. Upon searching the individuals, the police discovered 250 grams of ganja and 1 gram of narcotic substances. The contraband was immediately seized.
The four arrested individuals were identified as Niyasuddin Ahmed alias Chinna (29) from Karumbukkadai Gandhi Nagar Main Road, Mohamed Ajmal (26) from South Ukkadam, Bilal Nagar, Gokul (28) from Kalappatti, Balaji Nagar, and Yadhavan (21) from Pollachi Kottoor Malayandi Pattanam.
Following the arrests, the police confiscated a car, a motorcycle, a scooter, and four mobile phones from the suspects. Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the drugs and any potential connections to larger drug networks in the area.
