The Mayor's Public Grievance Day meeting scheduled for October 15, 2024, at the Coimbatore Corporation main office has been cancelled due to heavy rainfall.
Coimbatore: The Public Grievance Day meeting scheduled to be held tomorrow (15.10.2024) Tuesday at the Coimbatore Corporation main office under the leadership of Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran has been cancelled due to heavy rainfall.
The meeting was originally planned to take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, providing an opportunity for the public to present their grievances and requests directly to the Mayor. Residents of areas under the Coimbatore Corporation jurisdiction were expected to submit petitions regarding various civic issues and basic amenities.
The public was to be allowed to submit petitions concerning birth and death certificates, road facilities, street lighting, water supply, underground drainage, professional tax, property tax, vacant land tax, new water connections, name changes, medical services, sanitation, education, and other basic facilities. The Mayor would have received these petitions, and appropriate action would have been taken by the concerned department officials of the Corporation.
The Corporation had encouraged citizens to utilize this opportunity to address their concerns and benefit from the grievance redressal mechanism. However, due to the inclement weather conditions, the meeting has been postponed. The new date for the Public Grievance Day meeting will likely be announced once the weather improves.
