Iron Machine Part Falls from Truck, Damages Vehicles in Coimbatore's Sundarapuram

A large iron machine part fell from a truck onto the road in LIC Colony, Sundarapuram, Coimbatore, damaging vehicles. The incident caused temporary traffic disruption but no casualties were reported.

Coimbatore: A tense situation unfolded in LIC Colony, Sundarapuram, Coimbatore on Wednesday (October 4) when a large iron machine part being transported on a lorry fell onto the road, damaging a car and a two-wheeler. The incident caused a brief commotion in the area.

The machine part, reportedly being transported from L&T company to a private firm, was not properly secured on the truck. It is alleged that the heavy iron cylinder was loaded onto the lorry with wooden supports on two sides, but without adequate safety measures.

As the truck was moving, the weight of the iron part caused it to tilt and roll off onto the road. While a car was damaged in the incident, fortunately, no casualties were reported. The falling object caused temporary traffic disruption in the area until it was removed from the road.

Local police have initiated an investigation into the incident. The event has raised concerns about the safety protocols followed during the transportation of heavy machinery and equipment through city roads.

Authorities are expected to examine the circumstances that led to the mishap and potentially implement stricter guidelines for transporting such heavy loads to prevent similar incidents in the future.
