AIADMK Petitions Collector to Relocate Flyover Ramp Pillar in Peelamedu, Coimbatore

AIADMK members submitted a petition to the Coimbatore District Collector on September 27, urging the relocation of a flyover ramp pillar in Peelamedu. The party aims to preserve the traditional road and prevent disruptions to public life.


Coimbatore: The AIADMK party has petitioned the Coimbatore District Collector to relocate the pillar of a flyover ramp currently under construction in the Peelamedu area of Singanallur constituency. The move comes after a meeting held by the party to discuss the issue and its impact on the traditional road.



The petition, submitted on September 27, was led by Coimbatore North MLA Amman K. Arjunan and Singanallur MLA K.R. Jayaram. They urged the Collector to take immediate action in the public interest regarding the flyover ramp pillar construction.



During the meeting, a resolution was passed to request the government to continue the construction work without causing any hindrance to the historically significant road. The AIADMK members emphasized the need to preserve the area's heritage while proceeding with development projects.

The petition submission event saw participation from various political figures and members of the public.



Notable attendees included BJP State General Committee member Balaji Uthamaramasamy, former councilor Peelamedu Duraisamy, Vasanthalaya Mohanraj, Corporation Councilor Chitra Velliangiri, and members of the Vilankurichi Road Rescue Committee including Vijayakumar, Senthilkumar, Nanda Gopal, Ramamoorthy Prakash, and Bharathidasan.

The event also witnessed a large turnout of party executives, general public, and traders, highlighting the widespread concern over the flyover construction and its potential impact on the local community and businesses in the Peelamedu area.
