Woman Praised by Police Commissioner for Turning in Rs 50,000 Found on Coimbatore Street

A woman in Coimbatore found Rs 50,000 on the street and handed it over to the police. Commissioner Balakrishnan IPS praised her honesty and presented her with a certificate.


Coimbatore: In a commendable act of honesty, a woman named Nirmala was praised by Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan IPS for turning in Rs 50,000 she found on a city street.

Recently, an unidentified person had accidentally dropped a bundle containing Rs 50,000 on a road in Coimbatore city. The money lay unclaimed until Nirmala, who was passing by, noticed the bundle. Upon discovering the substantial amount inside, she immediately took it to the nearby C-2 Race Course Police Station and handed it over to the authorities.

Recognizing her integrity, Police Commissioner Balakrishnan IPS personally invited Nirmala to his office on September 23. He commended her for her honest action and presented her with a certificate of appreciation, acknowledging her exemplary conduct as a responsible citizen.

This incident has been widely appreciated by the local community, serving as a reminder of the importance of honesty and civic responsibility in society.
