Gold Heist in Kalrasipalaiyam: CCTV Footage Sparks Sensation, One Arrested

CCTV footage of thieves breaking into a residence in Kalrasipalaiyam near Annur and stealing gold jewelry has caused a stir. Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the theft.



Coimbatore: A daring daylight robbery in Kalrasipalaiyam near Annur has sent shockwaves through the community after CCTV footage of the incident surfaced. The theft occurred on the 13th at the residence of Thangavel, who lives with his family in the Kalrasipalaiyam area near Kunnathur, Annur.



On the day of the incident, while Thangavel and his family were away, two individuals arrived in a car and, after ensuring the house was empty, broke in. The thieves ransacked the house, focusing on the cupboard where they found and stole 8 sovereigns of gold jewelry. They methodically searched all rooms before fleeing with their loot.

Upon returning home and discovering the theft, Thangavel immediately filed a complaint at the Annur Police Station.



The police launched an investigation, collecting CCTV footage from the area for analysis.



Following the investigation, the police arrested Ajith alias Muniandi from Vadipatti in Madurai district for his involvement in the robbery. They recovered the stolen 8 sovereigns of gold jewelry and seized the car used in the crime.

The police are currently on the lookout for another suspect believed to be involved in the heist. The swift action of the law enforcement in apprehending one of the culprits has brought some relief to the residents of Kalrasipalaiyam, although concerns about security in the area remain high.

This incident has highlighted the importance of home security measures and community vigilance, especially during daytime hours when many residents are away at work or running errands. Local authorities are urging residents to be more cautious and to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
