Unidentified Woman Found Dead on Railway Tracks Near Coimbatore Junction

An unidentified woman, aged 30-35, was fatally struck by a train near Nanjundapuram overbridge between Coimbatore and Podanur railway stations on September 14. Police seek public assistance for identification.


Coimbatore: An unidentified woman, estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old, was found dead on the railway tracks near Nanjundapuram overbridge between Coimbatore Junction and Podanur railway stations on Thursday (September 14). The incident occurred around 2 PM when the woman was struck by an express train traveling from Coimbatore to Palakkad.

The deceased woman was wearing a green salwar and yellow pants at the time of the incident. She is described as having a round face with a reddish complexion and a distinctive mole on her left shoulder. Assistant Inspector Mrs. Mangaiyarkarasi has taken custody of the body and is conducting an investigation into the matter.

The Railway Police have urged the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the woman. Those with relevant details are requested to contact the Coimbatore Railway Police Station at 0422-2300043.
