Coimbatore: The Karamadai Ranganathar Temple in Coimbatore celebrated the Aavani Ekadasi festival on Thursday, September 14. The event was marked by special rituals and a grand procession that drew a large number of devotees.

The celebration began with a special 'Thirumanjana' (holy bath) for the deity using fragrant substances. Following this, Lord Ranganathar was adorned in silk robes and placed in a silver palanquin. The procession commenced with the deity being carried under a white silk umbrella, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional musical instruments.

The procession made its way around the temple, with devotees following in reverence. Upon returning to the temple, Lord Ranganathar was placed on a ceremonial throne in the 'Aasthanam' (court) along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi. The deities were then seated on a grand throne, where they received the prayers and offerings of the gathered devotees.

The Aavani Ekadasi celebration at the Karamadai Ranganathar Temple is an important event in the religious calendar of Coimbatore. It not only showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region but also brings together the community in a spirit of devotion and festivity.
