Salem Railway Division announces special trains between Chennai-Mangalore and Chennai-Kannur via Coimbatore for Onam festival, offering convenient travel options for passengers.
Coimbatore: The Salem Railway Division has announced the operation of special trains between Chennai-Mangalore and Chennai-Kannur via Coimbatore in view of the upcoming Onam festival. This move aims to cater to the increased passenger traffic during the festive season.
According to the press release, the Chennai-Mangalore special train (No. 06161) will depart from Chennai Central railway station on Friday, September 13, at 3:10 PM and reach Mangalore railway station the next day at 8:30 AM. On the return journey, the Mangalore-Chennai special train (No. 06162) will leave Mangalore on Sunday, September 15, at 6:45 PM and arrive at Chennai Central railway station the following day at 11:40 AM.
This train will make stops at several stations including Kasaragod, Nileshwar, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, and Arakkonam.
Additionally, a Chennai-Kannur special train (No. 06163) will depart from Chennai Central on Saturday, September 14, at 11:50 PM and reach Kannur railway station the next day at 1:30 PM. The return Kannur-Chennai special train (No. 06164) will leave Kannur on Monday, September 16, at 3:45 PM and arrive at Chennai Central railway station the following day at 7:55 AM.
This train will stop at various stations including Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Ottapalam, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, and Katpadi.
