Corporation Commissioner Inspects ₹49 Crore Improvement Works at Sanganoor Canal

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS inspected the Rs.49 crore improvement works at Sanganoor Canal on September 12, 2024. He directed officials to expedite the works and also examined damaged stormwater drains in Rathinapuri.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS conducted an inspection of the ongoing improvement works at Sanganoor Canal, valued at ₹49 crore, on Thursday (September 12, 2024). The Commissioner visited the site in person to assess the progress of the works and instructed officials to expedite the project.

During his visit, Prabhakaran emphasized the importance of swift execution of the improvement works at Sanganoor Canal, which falls under the Central Zone of Coimbatore Corporation. He urged the officials to ensure timely completion of the project, which aims to enhance the canal's infrastructure and efficiency.



Following the inspection at Sanganoor Canal, the Corporation Commissioner proceeded to Rathinapuri, Shastri Street in Ward 46 of the Central Zone. Here, he examined the condition of damaged stormwater drains. After assessing the situation, Prabhakaran instructed the concerned engineer to prepare a detailed project estimate for the renovation of the deteriorated drains.



The Commissioner's visit highlights the municipal corporation's focus on improving urban infrastructure and addressing drainage issues in the city. The renovation of stormwater drains is crucial for effective flood management, especially during monsoon seasons.



Accompanying the Corporation Commissioner during the inspection were Central Zone Chairperson Mrs. Meenaloku, City Planner Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Senthilkumaran, Executive Engineer Karuppasamy, Assistant Executive Engineer Hemalatha, Zonal Health Officer Thirugunasekaran, Assistant Engineer Saravanakumar, and other corporation officials.
