Teachers' Day Celebration at Coimbatore Corporation's R.S. Puram Hall

Teachers' Day celebration was held at Coimbatore Corporation's R.S. Puram Hall in the West Zone on September 11, 2024. The event was presided over by Coimbatore MP Dr. Ganapathi P. Rajkumar and attended by Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS.


Coimbatore: The Teachers' Day celebration was held today (11.09.2024) at the Coimbatore Corporation's R.S. Puram Hall in the West Zone. The event was presided over by Coimbatore MP Dr. Ganapathi P. Rajkumar and attended by Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS.

In his address, MP Dr. Ganapathi P. Rajkumar highlighted the various developmental projects being implemented across Tamil Nadu under the guidance of the Chief Minister. He particularly emphasized the exemplary educational initiatives that are being emulated by other states. The MP expressed his delight in participating in the Teachers' Day celebration organized by the Corporation to honor educators.

Dr. Rajkumar praised the cultural performances by students from Corporation schools, noting that they were on par with, if not better than, those from private schools. He commended the Corporation for implementing various programs and activities to strengthen such events and honor teachers.

The MP congratulated the district's teachers who received the Dr. Radhakrishnan Award at the state level. He extended his Teachers' Day wishes to all educators, acknowledging their role as sculptors in shaping future experts.

Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran, in his speech, stated that the Corporation had organized this event to honor the teachers of Corporation schools. He praised the students' performances and highlighted the increasing attendance and pass percentage in Corporation schools, which he said brings pride to the Corporation.

During the event, 11 teachers from the Coimbatore district who received the Dr. Radhakrishnan Award at the state level were honored with shawls. The MP and the Commissioner also viewed cultural performances by students from Corporation schools.

The event was attended by various officials including Deputy Commissioner K. Sivakumar, Zonal Chairpersons K.A. Deivayani Tamilmarai (COLDB), Lakshmi Ilanchelvi Karthik (East), and Meenaloku (Central), District Education Officer Gomathi, Zonal Assistant Commissioners Santhiya (COLDB), Senthilkumaran (Central), and Sridevi (East), City Education Officer R. Gunasekaran, school headmasters, teachers, and other Corporation officials.
