Udumalpet Government Arts College Hosts 24th Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony

Udumalpet Government Arts College celebrated its 24th annual prize distribution ceremony, honoring top-scoring students from various departments and Bharathiar University. The event, organized by the Alumni Association Trust, awarded cash prizes and certificates to outstanding achievers.


Tirupur: The Udumalpet Government Arts College in Tirupur district hosted its 24th annual prize distribution ceremony on Tuesday, organized by the Alumni Association Trust. The event celebrated students who excelled in their academic pursuits, both at the college level and in Bharathiar University examinations.



College Principal Kalyani presided over the function, which saw the participation of faculty members, parents, students, and trust administrators. The ceremony honored 24 students who secured the highest marks in their respective departments for the academic year 2023-2024.



Each of these top performers received a cash prize of Rs. 3,000 along with a certificate of merit.



In addition to departmental toppers, 15 students who excelled in the Bharathiar University examinations were also recognized with prizes and certificates. A special award was presented to Sabareeshwari, the top scorer in the Commerce department, who received a one-gram gold coin for her outstanding performance.



The event was graced by the presence of Chinnathurai, a retired headmaster and alumnus of the college, who attended as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included trust administrators Auditor Kanthasamy, Auditor Kannan, Rajamanickam, Dr. Krishnan, and Professor Mohamed Jafar Ali.



This annual ceremony, a tradition maintained for nearly two and a half decades, serves as a platform to motivate and encourage academic excellence among the students of Udumalpet Government Arts College. It also strengthens the bond between the alumni and their alma mater, fostering a culture of giving back to the institution.
